A Pokemon GO Player Got in a Shootout with Robbers

The violent incidents involving Pokemon Go keep piling up. We've had players targeted for armed robbery, a teenager was murdered while playing the game and now there's been a shootout, AP reports. Last Sunday in Las Vegas, a robber and his underage driver targeted some Pokemon Go players, but a player pulled out a gun and shot the criminal.

A group of six people was reportedly playing the game at 4 a.m. at a park that was a hotspot for Pokemon. A man and his teenage driver approached the group with a gun and demanded their possession. One of the group of players had a concealed weapons permit and pulled out a hidden gun. This resulted in an exchange of fire.

Both the armed robber and one of the group of Pokemon Go players were shot in the ensuing fight. It's unclear whether the player who was shot in the stomach was a gun owner or another member of the group, but they were taken to the hospital. The gunman is also being treated for his wound at the hospital. Apparently his companion drove him there, as an SUV matching the description of the robber's was found in the hospital parking lot.

The police spokeswoman Laura Meltzer says that the players in the group all knew each other. The park the incident took place in is Gary Reese Park, which is apparently a good place to catch Magikarp.

The robber and his driver will be facing police charges.

It's unsettling how many violent incidents have happened involving Pokemon Go, but I guess that's to be expected when the game is this popular. There's always a good chance of something bad happening to people in public regardless of what they're doing. What do you think of all this Pokemon GO related carnage?
