Two Classic Star Wars Games are Returning to PS4 and Nintendo Switch

The most recent Nintendo Direct was a pleasant surprise for us gamers, showing off a remake for the original Xenoblade Chronicles, now called Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition, and revealing SNK's Terry Bogard for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, among other things. However, Star Wars fans were genuinely surprised when it was revealed that Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast would be coming to Nintendo Switch.

And as it turns out, there's more Jedi Knight goodness coming to the Switch and Sony's PlayStation 4.

Star Wars.com has confirmed that Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast and Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy will be coming to the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Jedi Outcast will be coming out on September 24, as the Nintendo Direct informed us, while Jedi Academy will get a later release sometime in 2020.

It's kinda weird that Disney and LucasFilm aren't releasing these titles in one package. Some are also dumbfounded over them not porting the original Jedi Knight game but they might be slowly re-releasing these games so that they can gain some traction. While Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order looks like an awesome game, a lot of old-school fans would kill for a brand-new Jedi Knight.

Many fans consider Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast to be the best Star Wars game out there, or, at the very least, is up there when it comes to this franchise's titles. Personally, I've never played these titles but I'm looking forward to playing this on my Nintendo Switch (because it's too ugly to be on my PS4 #gamingsnob).
