Netflix Sets Up Real-Life Squid Game in LA

There is little doubt that the games in Squid Game seemed easy at first but they all ended up being deadly. Still, that hasn't stopped people from trying to recreate safer options in real life. But how would you like to encounter that creepy giant doll from the first game? Netflix had set up a Red Light Green Light game area in Los Angeles for fans who want to try and outwit the doll.

In the premiere episode of Squid Game, all 456 players joined the first game which had them playing the children's game Red Light Green Light with the giant doll. However, anyone who is caught moving after the doll turns around is immediately shot. Most of the players were killed as they tried to escape while the others who played by the rules managed to survive.

RLGL (the less dangerous version) has since experienced a revival all around the world. Still, fans are hoping to see what it's like to go up against the doll from Squid Game (without being shot). That's why Netflix has decided to set up a special Red Light Green Light area in Los Angeles.

The one-day event took place in LA's Koreatown and participants got the full, albeit non-lethal Squid Game experience. This means getting their photos taken before the game begins and trying their hand at extracting shapes from Dalgona cookies.

There is little doubt that Squid Game has turned into a worldwide phenomenon as people were intrigued by how simple children's games can be turned into something deadly. In addition to the thrill of lethal games, the series also shed some light on the class disparity in South Korea.

For now, Squid Game has not yet been renewed for a second season. However, there is a huge chance that Season 2 will be confirmed in the next few months. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
