Jon Watts recently offered advice for the new director who will be working on Spider-Man 4, which is still in the works.

Following the massive success of No Way Home in late 2021, Marvel Studios and Sony started developing a fourth movie that will continue Tom Holland's adventure as the iconic web-slinger in the MCU.

They are currently searching for a new director who will helm the project as Watts is not expected to return after working on the first three films. So far, no filmmaker has been tapped yet for the new installment.

Jon Watts Shares Advice for Spider-Man 4 Director

During a recent convention interview, Watts was asked whether he has a piece of advice for the new director of Spider-Man 4.

The director shared his insight on what he thinks is the best way to film the hero's swinging scenes.

"I have a very practical bit of Spider-Man advice, and I think every Spider-Man director goes through it. It doesn't look good when someone is just swinging on a rope," he said.

"You think you're gonna go in there, you're like, 'We're gonna do it all practical. We're gonna get a stuntman. We're gonna be swinging around.' It's boring. It looks dumb. It looks like a monkey swinging on a vine when you put someone on just a rope."

Watts concluded, "Don't waste your time. That's my advice to the next Spider-Man director."

There is no doubt that whoever Marvel and Sony hire to direct the fourth movie will have big shoes to fill as they have to make sure that the new installment will deliver the same quality as the first three films.

It is likely that we will be able to finally get official news about the film's director soon after hearing several rumors about the filmmakers that are allegedly being eyed for the project.
