Gina Carano revealed that she is still open to returning to the Star Wars franchise despite her ongoing lawsuit against Disney.

Earlier this year, the ex-Mandalorian star sued Disney and Lucasfilm for discrimination and wrongful termination regarding her firing from the Star Wars series back in 2021.

X owner Elon Musk is backing the actress' lawsuit as part of his promise to shoulder the legal bill of users who claimed that they were discriminated against over their activity on the platform.

Speaking at a recent convention panel, Carano assured the attendees that she is still open to returning to the Star Wars franchise despite the lawsuit.

She also said that she has no ill will towards Disney and her former employers and claimed that she only spoke out because she wanted people to know what was going on.

In the lawsuit, Carano is seeking compensatory damages and a court order that would make Lucasfilm rehire her.

Last month, Disney filed a motion to dismiss the actress' lawsuit over her firing from The Mandalorian.

They argued that the actress lost her job due to her decision "to publicly trivialize the Holocaust by comparing criticism of political conservatives to the annihilation of millions of Jewish people—notably, not ‘thousands’—was the final straw for Disney."

The company's legal team insists that the lawsuit should be tossed out "on the grounds that Disney has a constitutional right not to associate its artistic expression with Carano’s speech, such that the First Amendment provides a complete defense to Carano’s claims."

At that time, Carano responded by saying that Disney's recent move is a sign that "they will fire you if you say anything they disagree with" and argued that the First Amendment does not allow the company to "wantonly discriminate."
