Giancarlo Esposito recently revealed that he is finally joining the MCU sooner than we may expect.
For years, fans have been clamoring for The Mandalorian actor to join the franchise since he has been associated with various fan casts in several iconic Marvel roles such as Professor X.
Fortunately, it looks like it is finally happening soon although the type of role that he might play could be unexpected for some fans.

Giancarlo Esposito is Joining the MCU 'Sooner Rather Than Later'
In a recent convention appearance, Esposito revealed that he is set to make an appearance in an MCU project.
While he didn't provide details regarding the role that he will play, he teased that it will happen "sooner rather than later" and that it is "better than you can imagine."
The Emmy-nominated actor also warned that it will be a different role and it is not the one that he is being fan cast of.
So far, Marvel Studios has not commented on Esposito's reveal of his MCU casting.
Whether he is playing Professor X or not, this is exciting news for many fans since Esposito is finally going to be involved in the MCU after being part of Star Wars, another Disney franchise.
It is likely that we will hear some details about his MCU role soon once Marvel Studios is ready to make an official announcement.
Based on what is coming in the pipeline, some of the projects that Esposito is likely to appear in are Deadpool and Wolverine, The Fantastic Four, and Thunderbolts*. He could also show up for a voice role in an upcoming animated series.
For now, fans should wait and see for any announcements from Marvel Studios coming soon.
