Will There Be Enough Material for Tsukimichi Season 3?
Much like most isekai anime, Tsukimichi is based on an ongoing light novel series of the same name.
The novel series began back in May 2013, and it has since gotten 19 volumes. It has also gotten a manga adaptation that began in 2015, which now has 13 volumes.
Given the number of volumes for both the novel series and the manga, there may be enough material for a third season, though probably not another two-cour season.
Some fans think there won’t be though, especially considering how fast the pace of the second season is, to the point that some details are being skipped.
As the second season continues, episodes continue to cover Makoto Misumi's adventure at a rapid pace.
On one hand, this can be concerning for a potential season 3, though some anime adaptations have sidestepped this issue by introducing original story content.

Tsukimichi's History Should Mean Season 3 Will Eventually Be Made
The Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy anime began in July 2021 with a 12-episode first season by studio C2C (of Otaku Elf and Shangri-La Frontier fame).
Even though the series was fairly successful, it took nearly three years before the second season came out.
Finally, fans were treated to more episodes in season 2 in winter 2024, showing more of Makoto Misumi's adventure.
Sure, it may not have gotten renewed quickly, but the fact that Tsukimichi still got a two-cour second season years after the first one is a good indication of the production committee's interest in keeping it running.
