Star Wars: The Mandalorian Finale Delivers Satisfying Season Conclusion

It has only been seven short weeks but The Mandalorian is finally over. Luckily, the eighth and final episode of the first season did not disappoint as it answered several questions and gave fans a teaser on what to expect in Season 2 of the Star Wars series.

SPOILERS AHEAD, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

In Chapter 8: Redemption, fans were delighted when IG-11 rescued Baby Yoda from the scout troopers that took him away from Kuiil. Although the droid did a great job recovering The Child, it also brought him back to where Mando, Cara Dune, and Greef Carga have been pinned by Moff Gideon and his troopers.

Interestingly, Gideon knows a lot about Mando and his allies. The villain reveals Mando's real name to be Din Djarin (we're waiting for the correct spelling here) and that Cara is actually from Alderaan. Moreover, Gideon also confirms that Carga is a disgraced magistrate who ended up becoming a bounty hunter. These are just a few of the awesome things we discover in the season finale.

The episode also made it possible for Mando (or Din Djarin) to finally shed his helmet, at least for a short time. IG-11 removes the helmet, which does not violate the Mandalorian Creed since the droid is not considered a living thing.

There's a lot of development for Mando (seriously, I still can't call him Din Djarin) as he gets a special new mission from the armorer to bring the Child back to his people or make him part of his clan when Baby Yoda comes of age. In addition to that, he gets his very own jetpack (yay!).

Gideon is the true star here as he uses a TIE Fighter (whoah!) to try and get Mando and his companions. However, Mando still manages to defeat him.

But wait, we haven't seen the last of Gideon. At the end of the episode, he emerges from the destroyed TIE Fighter using a darksaber. Yes, a darksaber that we can't wait to see more of in the second season.
