As Shonen Jump fans eagerly await the upcoming Mashle anime, it was announced just recently that a Spy x Family star is joining the Mashle: Magic and Muscles anime voice cast.
The announcement was made via a new trailer that revealed four characters in the anime along with their respective voice actors.
The trailer was shared on the official Mashle Twitter account and the Aniplex YouTube channel.
Mashle: Magic and Muscles – A Highly Anticipated Anime
Mashle (or Mashle: Magic and Muscles) is an upcoming shonen anime series by A-1 Pictures that’s based on the manga series of the same name by Hajime Komoto.
The ongoing manga started serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump on January 27, 2020.
While it’s a fairly new manga, it is already a hit as the series has over 3 million copies in circulation as of March 2022.
The series has also garnered critical praise as it was nominated at the 2021 Shogakukan Manga Awards.
As for its story, Mashle is set in a world where magical abilities define people’s place in society, and those without magic are purged.
One such person is Mash who lives a peaceful life with his father. Though they are soon discovered to have no magic, threatening their peaceful life.
Because of this, Mash enrolls in the Easton Magic Academy so they can survive, even if he only has his muscles and no magic.
The upcoming TV anime adaptation was announced just a few months ago.
Following its short announcement trailer, new info about the anime was released, including the voice actor for its main character, Mash.
Mashle Anime Voice Cast
Now, four more voice actors were revealed. One of which is Takuya Eguchi, the voice actor of Loid Forger/Twilight in the hit anime series, Spy x Family. In Mashle, Eguchi voices the character, Dot Barrett.
Aside from Loid, Eguchi is also known for voicing several other popular characters, including Hachiman Hikigaya in OreGairu, Souei in TenSura, and Kakeru Manabe in Fruits Basket.
Joining Eguchi are three other voice actors, including Kaito Ishikawa (Iida in My Hero Academia) as Lance Crown, Reiji Kawashima (Fushi in To Your Eternity) as Finn Ames, and Reina Ueda (Kanao Tsuyuri in Demon Slayer) as Lemon Irvine.
The Mashle anime is set to release in 2023, though there’s no word yet on a specific release date.
