Niko Sasaki has always had dark hair on Dead Boy Detectives. However, the more we watch her in the series, her hair color changes over time. Why does Niko have white hair in Dead Boy Detectives now? Here's what we know.

Who is Niko Sasaki in Dead Boy Detectives?

Niko Sasaki (played by Yuyu Kitamura) is one of the clients Edwin and Charles helped in the Dead Boy Detectives series.

Following the death of her father, Niko came to America to start a new life. However, two supernatural beings began haunting her and sought to take her life for themselves. How do Edwin and Charles solve this one?

Well, it just so happens that Niko has always loved dandelions ever since she was little. According to her father, keeping dandelions by her side would help her gain courage in any given situation she has to face.

Little did she know, the very same flower was the reason that led to her now white hair.

What Happened to Niko in the Series? What the White Hair Means

When she was looking for dandelions, Niko surprisingly ended up in a shrine filled with old abandoned gods. These gods happened to be Dandelion Sprites, who wanted to take away Niko's life force.

The Sprites craved attention, considering that this is where their powers grew stronger. Unfortunately, if Niko doesn't get rid of them soon, she'll likely explode and die.

Edwin and Charles managed to save Niko by entrapping the Sprites inside an enchanted jar.

Upon taking the Sprites leeching Niko's life, her hair turns white, signifying she was close to dying in her lifetime, it's a brush with Death, after having nearly met her in the series.

This came with a side effect, though. After successfully removing the supernatural entities from her body, she can now see ghosts and since then, has helped the Dead Boy Detectives agency.
