New Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker TV Spot Includes a Major Spoiler

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is somehow the lowest-rated Star Wars movie in Rotten Tomatoes, even though it's better than the prequel movies. It's likely due to the film itself being an overreaction to some internet fans complaining about The Last Jedi, even though no one in production will admit that. Despite its reputation, the movie is still showing in theaters and there are fans who are watching it, whether it's their first time or their ninth.

Disney and LucasFilm have decided to, ermm, "entice" people to watch The Rise of Skywalker by releasing a new TV spot that spoils one of the film's biggest moments. We're assuming that most people have seen the movie but it's still surprising to see them put a reformed Kylo Ren in the TV spot, picking up a blue lightsaber and helping Rey fight Emperor Palpatine.

Granted, most people have seen The Rise of Skywalker by now but there are still others who haven't. People get busy, whether it's with work, their personal life, or other things so if your big-budget movie is still showing in theaters, maybe don't spoil it during a trailer? Come on guys, be nice to others.

We would be more understanding of this tv spot if it were for the Blu-ray or digital release since most people are buying it there so that they can rewatch the film they loved/hated. But it wasn't so this is going to be a weird decision. And yes, we know Avengers: Endgame did the same thing but we didn't like it when they did that either.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is now showing in theaters, though it will probably stop showing soon. Expect a Blu-ray and digital release date soon.
