Horror Legend Bruce Campbell Disses On Batman V Superman Saying Its A ‘Stupid, Stupid Concept’

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice may have been nothing short of commercial success, but the film has had multiple critics, including cult movie legend and horror icon Bruce Campbell.

While most fans were eagerly anticipating the film only to be underwhelmed by the output, Campbell tells i09 Gizmodo that he believes that the concept for Batman v Superman was pretty stupid to begin with. According to the Evil Dead franchise star, the idea of having a mortal Batman challenging the exhaustingly powerful Superman seems every bit ludicrous.

"..these guys who have this special superhero power, to me that's Snoresville. If you don't have kryptonite, then—Batman v Superman. Stupid, stupid, stupid concept. Never should've been made. Superman who can like, make the world go backward with centrifugal force," Campbell explains.

"Batman can't do that. Superman can frickin' fly," the actor continues, "He's the man of steel. All he has—one hand on Batman's esophagus, the story is over. So they spent a lot of money kidding themselves."

From the onset, it does seem like a pretty bad idea for the Dark Knight to go against the Man of Steel, but DC has long since toyed with the idea, especially in comics. What makes Batman a formidable foe against Superman (or anyone else for that matter) is his ability to prepare so that he's always one step ahead of his opponents. There are many times where Batman wins in the comics. He wins in Superman: Red Son, in The Dark Knight Strikes Again, and The Dark Knight Falls.

Of course, comic book writers do recognize Superman's outstanding abilities and his intelligence, so many of the newer comics have Superman winning the fight.
