Following the anime’s reveal in January, the Monogatari Series Off & Monster Season anime announced that YOASOBI will perform the show’s theme song.
This was confirmed via the show’s official X (formerly Twitter) account and website. There, the song’s title was revealed along with the release of a short preview.
YOASOBI performing the show’s theme marks yet another series the popular Japanese music duo will work on. This shouldn’t be surprising given how well-received the duo’s anime songs are.
With the theme song announcement, we will likely get even more info soon, and hopefully even a proper trailer.
Monogatari Off & Monster Season Reveals YOASOBI Theme Song
Earlier this week, the Monogatari series shared another teaser for the upcoming anime.
This teaser is simply an image of the letter Y on a red background, similar to the previous teasers for the new season announcement.
Given how vague the teaser was, pretty much no one expected the announcement of YOASOBI being the theme song singers. Before the official announcement, fans thought that it was another anime reveal.
Aside from revealing YOASOBI’s involvement, the theme song’s title UNDEAD was also confirmed, though it’s not clear if it’s going to be the show’s opening or ending theme.
Chances are that this new YOASOBI song will be the opening theme. After all, the duo has performed four hit anime songs before this, and they were all used in the opening credits.
YOASOBI’s first anime theme song is for Beastars season 2, which became a big hit. This was followed by the Gundam: Witch from Mercury's first cour opening.
Perhaps the duo’s best-known anime song is Idol from Oshi no Ko, which became a massive trend in 2023, enough that it topped both Japanese and global charts.

When Will Monogatari Off & Monster Season Premiere? Release Date Predictions
It has been nearly five years since the last proper anime season in the Monogatari series, so the Off & Monster Season announcement delighted many fans back in January.
While the series was announced with a special video, it did not feature new clips. Instead, it simply showed highlights from previous seasons along with the key visual.
What has been confirmed is the show’s 2024 premiere, though there’s no specific release date window yet.
Given that there’s still no release date, it will likely be released in fall 2024. After all, if it had a summer release, its premiere should have been announced now.
