Is Project Stardust the same as Project Necromancer in The Bad Batch? The third and final season sees Governor Tarkin relocating the funds of the latter project towards the former. But what's the big difference?

Is Project Stardust the Same As Project Necromancer?

Project Necromancer is what the entire three seasons of Star Wars: The Bad Batch has been all about.

With Doctor Royce Hemlock set on resurrecting Emperor Palpatine using Omega's M-count, the Clone Force 99 had all right to worry about saving Omega's life.

Not only is she a rare subject, but using her as a test experiment would mean losing her life for the Empire's purpose.

Thanks to the failure of Project Necromancer by the end of The Bad Batch season 3, though, this urged Government Tarkin to redirect the funding for Necromancer to Project Stardust, instead.

Now, the question is, what is Project Stardust? How is that different from Necromancer?

Project Stardust is also known as the Death Star project/Ultimate Weapon project. It's a completely different experiment but it still poses the same threat to the galaxy.

What Does Project Stardust Mean For the Franchise?

The Stardust codename was first mentioned in the 2016 spinoff flick, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and has since been spread across the Star Wars franchise.

The Bad Batch season 3 shows how the Galactic Republic began their secret construction of the Death Star Project, only after Gov. Tarkin couldn't see the potential behind Project Necromancer in developing the Empire further.

The superweapon behind Project Stardust nearly obliterated the universe when it headed to space. Thankfully, it was eventually destroyed and all efforts in building it had been futile, thanks to Luke Skywalker during the Battle of Yavin.

Who's to say if this would truly be the last time the franchise would bring up the Death Star project?
