K-drama lovers are in for a huge treat this May with the debut of some of the most hotly anticipated titles of the year, including Frankly Speaking. It is an upcoming K-drama starring Go Kyung-Pyo and Kang Han-Na, but is Frankly Speaking based on a manhwa or webtoon?

Frankly Speaking, JTBC Network’s Latest Rom-Com K-Drama

What happens when an articulate announcer can't stop talking about whatever's on his mind? Obviously, there will be chaos, and the broadcaster will be dismissed or despised by the public.

This is Song Ki-Baek's (Go Kyung-Pyo) disastrous story in Frankly Speaking, in which he went from an ideal, polite, and well-mannered announcer to a crude and vulgar one.

His life takes a dramatic turn when a weird disease forces him to blurt out everything on his mind.

Song Ki-Baek's respected career is ready to crumble until he meets On Woo-Joo (Kang Han-Na), an eager TV variety show writer who sees his potential entertainment value.

What will happen when they collaborate on a completely new show? Will Ki-Baek's career continue to plummet, or will he have a better future with Woo-Joo?

Is Frankly Speaking Based on a Manhwa or Webtoon

Frankly Speaking is not based on a manhwa or webtoon, so don't expect to come across any source material online that will reveal what happens next to the characters.

In fact, Frankly Speaking is written by Choi Kyung, the same screenwriter behind the 2020 thriller, mystery, comedy, and melodrama series Chip-In.

Meanwhile, Jang Ji Yeon (Nevertheless, Drama Festa: Off the Course Special) is the director of Frankly Speaking.
