In episode 2, Hotaru wants to make a change in her trial relationship with Hananoi. She wants to act like Hananoi’s girlfriend for real and do romantic things that ordinary girlfriends do.
From holding hands with Hananoi to waiting for him two hours before their meetup, Hotaru wants to fulfill her role in the relationship at all costs.
After all, Hananoi has always spoiled Hotaru. His gestures and actions bother Hotaru since she feels like she's constantly on the receiving end of the relationship, while Hananoi is on the giving side.
Their trial relationship will soon end, but Hotaru stays undecided about her feelings for Hananoi.
Kyo-chan's boyfriend, Keigo, proposes that Hotaru allow Hananoi to kiss her to discover her actual feelings for her trial lover.
If Hotaru genuinely likes Hananoi, she should never pull back when his face approaches her. If Hotaru pulls back, it means she dislikes Hananoi and hates the idea of kissing him.

By the end of the second episode, Hananoi has pinned Hotaru to the floor in an attempt to fulfill the latter's wish to kiss.
It was an unusual request from Hotaru, but Hananoi wished to show his overwhelming feelings to his partner by kissing.
They're alone in the room and the ambiance is lovely, yet their kiss never happened.
In other words, Hananoi didn't kiss Hotaru because he collapsed on top of her before he could do something, as revealed in the manga.
As it turns out, Hananoi hasn’t been feeling well. He had a fever and was burning up, most likely from waiting for Hotaru in the cold for hours before school.
